A Note from the General Manager – September at The Lido

September in San Diego is always an interesting month. Just when we think summer is winding down, San Diego likes to turn up the heat one more time! This year, we’ve certainly felt it. The recent heatwave has brought unusually warm temperatures to the region, so please stay hydrated and take care of yourselves, and your four-legged friends.

But cooler days and the possibility of rain are on the horizon, so September is also a great time for a little HOA and home maintenance check-up!

Here are a few September reminders:

  • 🌡️ Give your AC a break: After working overtime through the heat, this is a good time to check filters and make sure your system is ready for the changing weather.
  • 🌧️ Rain is coming! San Diego doesn’t usually get much rain, but when it arrives, it can arrive with a splash. Keep balconies and patios clear of debris and make sure drains aren’t blocked.
  • 💧 Report irrigation leaks: With the recent heat, our landscaping has been working hard. If you spot unusual puddling or a sprinkler that seems to have gone rogue, please let Management know.
  • 🏡 September is preparation season: HOAs spend a lot of time preparing common areas and building systems for seasonal changes. A little preventative maintenance now can help avoid bigger, and more expensive, problems later.
  • ☀️ San Diego fact: September is often one of our warmest months of the year. So if you’re wondering why summer doesn’t seem to want to leave…that’s just San Diego being San Diego!

As we transition from heatwaves to rain-soaked sidewalks, thank you for helping us keep The Lido safe, clean, and ready for whatever Mother Nature sends our way.

Stay cool, stay dry, and enjoy September!

Warm regards,
Patrick Derr, CMCA
