A Note from the General Manager – Marvelous March in San Diego!
Dear Residents,
March has arrived and here in beautiful San Diego, that means we get to enjoy one of the best early-spring climates in the country. While much of the nation is still bundling up, we’re often enjoying mild temperatures, ocean breezes, and those longer, golden evenings that remind us why we love living here.
Fun fact: March was originally the first month of the year in the ancient Roman calendar and was named after Mars. While the rest of the country may experience a seasonal “battle” between winter and spring, in San Diego that usually means a little morning marine layer followed by sunshine by lunchtime!
March also brings the spring equinox — nearly equal daylight and nighttime hours — and, of course, Daylight Saving Time. Don’t forget to “spring forward” and maybe use the extra daylight to enjoy a walk around the community.
St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th honors Saint Patrick, and San Diego always finds a festive way to celebrate. Whether it’s waterfront gatherings or local events, there’s usually a touch of green around town.
🏡 A Few Fun HOA Facts
Since we’re talking about interesting March trivia, here are a few fascinating facts about homeowners associations:
- Roughly one in four Americans lives in a community governed by an HOA.
- California has more HOA communities than any other state — and San Diego County has thousands of them!
- HOAs became especially popular in the 1970s as planned developments expanded across the country.
- Beyond maintaining common areas, HOAs help preserve property values and community standards through shared governance.
- HOA boards are made up of volunteer homeowners — your neighbors — who dedicate their time to serving the community.
Spring is often a busy season for associations. It’s a time for landscaping improvements, exterior projects, reserve planning, and preparing amenities for increased use as the weather warms. It’s also a great time for residents to review governing documents, attend meetings, or consider getting more involved.
Living in an HOA community means we all share in both the benefits and the responsibility of maintaining a place we’re proud to call home. As always, Management is here to support the Board and residents alike in keeping our community running smoothly.
Wishing you a bright, productive, and sunshine-filled March!
